COACHING PHILOSOPHY: As a volleyball coach, my philosophy centers on fostering a positive, supportive environment where athletes can thrive both on and off the court. I believe that every player deserves a space where they feel comfortable, valued, and confident to grow. This begins with creating an environment of trust and respect, where athletes feel encouraged to take risks, make mistakes, and learn from them without fear of judgment.
I am committed to teaching and reinforcing proper technique, understanding that a solid foundation is key to long-term success and injury prevention. Every drill, every play, is an opportunity to refine skills and build the muscle memory necessary to excel across all levels of volleyball.
Remaining positive, even in challenging moments, is crucial to building mental resilience and maintaining a strong team dynamic. My goal is to instill a mindset in my athletes that focuses on progress, not perfection, where effort and attitude are just as important as results.
Ultimately, my approach to coaching is about empowering athletes to take ownership of their development, fostering a love for the game, and teaching lessons that extend beyond the court. Volleyball is not just about winning games—it's about creating well-rounded, confident individuals who are prepared for whatever challenges lie ahead.

2021-2023:

2017-2018:

SPECIALIZATION: As a long time volleyball athlete with a deep passion for learning and understanding I have had the opportunity to get a strong understanding of each role in volleyball. My favourite tactical skill to teach is cue-reading. It is so much fun to watch athletes develop an understanding of what to expect in different situations and make the correct decision based on what they are seeing. Tactically I enjoy training middles the most. As an undersized middle myself it is incredibly satisfying to teach middles the tactical side of how to compete at the net against bigger athletes. The enjoyment that comes from correctly reading the court to make accurate blocking decisions and also running a high speed offense to help pull blockers to make it easier for the outside hitters to swing freely is one of the best feelings in volleyball!
PERSONAL NOTES: In my free time you will most often find me playing a variety of sports volleyball (court or beach), baseball or golf with my partner/co-coach Amber and other friends. I also try to find time to play video games/catching up with my friends or I will catch up on some of my favourite shows (Big Brother, Hell’s Kitchen, Kitchen Nightmares). Lastly, if it is football season I will be watching and cheering on my favourite team across all sports the Baltimore Ravens!

COACHING PHILOSOPHY: As a coach, I strive to foster a positive, safe environment where mistakes are seen as opportunities for growth, ensuring every athlete feels supported and valued. I aim to help develop the whole athlete, concentrating on their physical, mental, and emotional growth, through focusing on progress, overcoming setbacks, and building confidence. I aspire to promote the development of skills that can be used throughout life, not just on the court.
COACHING EXPERIENCE: 2021- Current: Assistant Coach, LVC
13U - 15U Boys; 16U Girls
2022–2024: Learn the Game Coach, LVC
2024- Current: Feed the Fire Co-Lead, LVC
SPECIALIZATION: My favourite thing to train is offensive strategies such as tipping, off-speed shots, or using the opponent’s hands to score points. I find it very rewarding to see athletes have a skill set that allows them to make smart offensive decisions and utilize various attacking options to keep opponents on their toes.
PERSONAL NOTES: When I am not coaching, you will likely find me playing some version of volleyball; women’s, reverse, coed, or beach, and if that’s not the case I am likely on a ball diamond playing softball or slo-pitch. When I’m not partaking in sports, I enjoy spending time at home unwinding with my partner Craig. When I have downtime, I often am catching up on my favourite shows or indulging in much needed naps.
