COACHING PHILOSOPHY: I coach so I can be someone for someone—someone who cares, influences, and supports. I accomplish this by being authentically present, building trust and connection in safe environments, and committing to growth together by 'trusting the process'. I promise to be an engaged, positive role model that helps others empower themselves and build lifelong confidence—on and off the court.

SPECIALIZATION: As a lifelong multi-sport athlete with a high respect for discipline and an insatiable desire to learn (culminating in earning a PhD in Social Justice from the University of Windsor in 2020), I found coaching to be a role that was made for me. From this experience, I specialize in creating teams of athletes who are endlessly analytical about the game, who are encouraged to pursue creativity and expect mistakes, and who commit to each other in a training environment that honours structure and routine. Utilizing a hybrid model of both teaching and questioning, I am passionate about building athletes who become great coaches one day, and more importantly, amazing people who make the world a better place.
PERSONAL NOTES: Beyond coaching, you may find me outdoors enjoying backcountry camping, kayaking, cross-country skiing, and hiking. When at home with my partner Zach, our time is mostly filled chasing around our toddler Lionel, but sometimes I find time to cuddle our two rescued cats, cook and bake plant-based foods, and play board games with friends.

COACHING PHILOSOPHY: Above all, I aim to be approachable and offer each athlete the time, effort, and coaching they deserve. I continually assess team dynamics and try to bring about the most supportive team culture possible. This includes modelling healthy responses to inevitable mistakes, encouraging self-reflection and self-compassion, and keeping/presenting statistics in ways that help athletes celebrate their improvements and enable effective goal-setting.
COACHING EXPERIENCE: 2022-present LVC Assistant Coach/Development Coach for Early Contact Girls Teams (13U/14U)
SPECIALIZATION: I am passionate about the mental game; seeing on-court work and attitude training pay off in increased confidence and sense of self. By creating a supportive environment where the athlete feels both challenged and valued as an individual, development in all aspects of the game follows. In the technical context, I enjoy analyzing skill execution and in-game decision-making in detail, and working with the athlete on the small changes that build towards good mechanics and smart play. I especially enjoy coaching fellow lefties and ensuring technical instruction is effectively translated!
PERSONAL NOTES: During the day, I work on my other passion; improving building codes and construction standards (sounds thrilling, right?) While not coaching or working, I'm often still on the court playing as a setter for my women's team, or hanging out at home with my partner and our dog, working on a DIY reno project, or playing D&D and board games with friends.
